The Moonstomp – Oxblood Longwing Brogues

Here we have The Moonstomp, our exclusive Modshoes longwing brogue, made for us in Portugal.

We wanted a brogue that would complement our popular Princes: something with a chunkier sole

The air-cushioned rubber sole gives the Moonstomp a lovely bounce underfoot. Although they have a substantial look, the soft leather upper means they are comfortable to wear straight from the box, with very little breaking in required.

The oxblood colour is deliberately subtle. In some light they appear almost black, but the rich red tones come through as the light catches the leather. It gives you the classic oxblood look without being overly bright or looking too “cherry red.” The leather is also easy to look after.

The Moonstomp will work with a multitude of outfits, including jeans, coloured jeans, trousers and, obviously, a suit. One of our favourite combinations would be with Prince of Wales, tweed or checked trousers—and a flash of colour from the socks.

Sizing & Wearing In

These fit like most of our shoes, so we recommend sticking with your usual UK size. A wide foot, you may go up a size. The brogue means more stitching so you want the shoe to be comfortable from get go , as its restricts growth, Remember that a lace-up brogue will not stretch and loosen in quite the same way as a loafer. When trying them on, make sure they feel comfortably fitted without pinching.

Please Note that are shoes are made mainly in Spain & Portugal and Euro to UK Conversion means that the shoes normally come up a little big. The reason is that a 43, is more like 9 and 1/4.
