The original Help Top has been one of our most popular Beatles-inspired designs. We always felt it deserved to be produced in more than one colour, so we’ve brought it back in two new shades for autumn.

We chose short sleeves because they make this a far more versatile top. It has the distinctive look of the original design but can be worn on its own like a substantial T-shirt or layered under a jacket when the weather turns cooler.

The inspiration comes from John Lennon’s top in Help!, The Beatles’ second film. Towards the end of the film, during the colourful Bahamas scenes, John can be seen wearing it as the band cycle away from the villains.

While researching The Beatles’ clothing, we also spotted Ringo Starr wearing what appears to be the same style during their American tour in August 1965.

Made from the same substantial 250gsm cotton we use for our Portland tops, it feels heavier and more structured than an ordinary T-shirt while remaining soft and comfortable to wear. The back is cut subtly longer than the front, finished with an upward V-shaped split at each side of the hem.

Sizing

The Help Top has a neater, more fitted shape than a Gabicci top, but it is not excessively slim. We recommend choosing your usual size.
