We are very happy to introduce, a brand new and exciting version of our iconic “Carl” top.
The Carl V2 is based on a design in the great surf book ‘Surf Photography’ by Leroy Grannis’ In the picture the dude is called David Nuuhwia, and he has just won an award on Pacific Beach, San Deigo 1967. The book is delight and full of inspiration .
At Mod Shoes we have a bit of a ‘Beach Boys’ Summer vibe going on at the moment, some bright and warm colours evocative of the Californian surf scene of the 60’s. This cool top is named in homage to Carl Wilson (Guitarist), one of the members of the Beach Boys.
This crew neck has some fab detailing. The material is really nice and soft. Notice the vintage-inspired textured style. The neckline is a retro styled high one, with a contrast colour of white, which is also featured around the hem
Styling is completely up to you. Of course we are thinking casual, with jeans, chinos or a very smart pair of shorts for a ‘Summer Holiday’ vibe. But worn with a nice fitted trouser could be a great outfit for a dancing etc.
Sizing
Please note these are slim fit, I am XL in Gabicci and other 66 Clothing. In these I would need a XL , but they are tighter around the stomach. So if you are lucky to be slim fit, stay with size, other wise go up not down. The drop is also a little shorter on these compared with out T-shirts.
Small = 38-40″ Chest.
Medium = 40-42″ Chest.
Large = 42-44″ Chest.
XL = 44-46″ Chest.
2XL = 46-48″ Chest.
3XL = 48-50″ Chest.

I’ve got the Carl V2 in both blue, and white. Both look and feel beautiful and very classy. The shape is excellent and the necks are just perfect. Depending on the cut, I go for either small or medium, 38 or 40 inch chest. I opted for the medium and the fit is absolutely perfect. I’ve been pairing them with a bomber jacket and a denim jacket and they look great with either. One of the very best and most authentic looking 60s/mod t-shirt out there.
