WE WANT THE PRINCE !!
That’s what Madness told us in 1979. A classic debut single on Two Tone, and yes it’s why our new Tassel Loafers are called “The Prince”.
We had these shoes developed because I really wanted to reproduce the classic Tassel Loafer, just how I remembered them back in the day. Notice the cutaway where the Tassels are held. Also observe the extra stitching on the band. These are also slightly wider than other makes.
We are extremely pleased with the results you can see here.
SIZING
In terms of sizing they are fairly true to size, if you are between sizes then probably best go down a size. These will grow up to 1/4 of inch after about 6 hours. When trying on please allow 15 mins for your foot to heat the shoes a bit, this will make the leather supple and comfy very quickly.
The soles are leather, the upper is black leather

PLEASE NOTE Some customers have been concerned that the sole of their new Prince looks as if it has been worn. We can assure you that this is not the case. The manufacturer “roughs up” the surface a little, to stop them being too slippery when worn, and prevent the wearer slipping on smooth surfaces.

Please Note that are shoes are made mainly in Spain & Portugal and Euro to UK Conversion means that the shoes normally come up a little big. The reason is that a 43, is more like 9 and 1/4.

The iconic tassel loafer “The Prince” from Mod Shoes is absolutely tip top in all respects.
I was a bit nervous about buying shoes online, however, the “sizing guide” was spot on. I’m in between sizes at 7.5, so I went down to a 7 and the fit is perfect. I stated out with a pair in Oxblood and I was so impressed with the fit and quality, I soon followed up with a second pair in black.

I wish I’d bought a pair sooner. True to size, they may feel a little tight at first, but as the description mentions, they will stretch slightly, and now mine fit like a glove. Normally with loafers I end up with blisters until I’ve worn them in, but that didn’t happen with these.
This review is 3 months in, still in good shape and looking forward to a long lasting pair of beautiful shoes.
As the soles are smooth leather, they’re a little slippy at first so watch out.

I had a pair of loafers several years ago and I was sorry when they finally gave up on me. I could not replace them from the original supplier so considered these from Mod Shoes. I was a bit dubious when I read the sizing information and it mentioned “These will grow up to 1/4 of inch after about 6 hours”. I normally take a size 9 and that’s what I ordered. I really was expecting to be returning them, but I put them on and as advised I wore them on carpet about the house. ( I actually vacuumed around the house. Very 21st century guy me, and I got brownie points from the missus!) while they felt tight over the top of my feet at first, within the hour they were as comfortable as slippers. The next time of wearing; again tight over the top but within minutes totally comfortable. A great pair of shoes which are great for smart dress or jeans. I’ve had them on with both. Now going to get a pair in Ox blood. Can’t rate them highly enough. Buy a pair. Honestly you won’t regret it.

Had a pair of Frank Wright’s back in the early 70’s and they were seldom off my feet. I’ve been looking for something similar to replace them but nothing came quite up to standard, until I saw these. I usually take a 71/2 and was going to order a 7 but not in stock. Went back on the site a couple of days later and as still not in stock, so took a gamble on a 6, They were a little snug at fist but after a couple of hours of just sitting down with my feet in them they have grown to my feet and are now just right. They are superbly comfortable and the finish is excellent. I’ve got the black ones and will be ordering oxblood when they’re back in stock. Can’t speak highly enough of these shoes.

having had a pair of ox blood loafers in the tone tone days which I still have I came across this site and was gobsmacked to see these beautiful all leather loafers I did not hesitate to buy and they are never off my feet the quality and fit is amazing . I did see a review advising to maybe go for the size down due to the very generous fit of these shoes however I ignored and bought the size seven which where slightly to big !!I returned them and was sent a replacement pair in a 6 which fit perfectly there was no hassle no delays the aftersales service was perfect I am now thinking of purchasing a pair of the peaky blinders boots
