Fab shoes, ,great for dancing, first pair to big but no problem in exchanging for smaller size, customer service great. Tip – go a size smaller for a snug fit as they soon give a little

  • From David FARMER on Oxblood Tassel Loafers - The Prince

I tipped my mate off about these shoes after seeing them on this site, so we both ordered a black and an oxblood pair, 2 pairs each. They arrived today and they are awesome, a beautiful well made shoe, with excellent style. They feel extremely comfortable and fit perfectly,(I’m usually an 8 but ordered a 7). I’m in Australia and it took a week and a 1/2 or two to get here.
    Not bad Mod Shoes.

  • From Nigel WAKE on Loake Royal Oxblood Brogues

I used to buy Royals and ‘Plains’ from the Ivy shop in Richmond .. I still remember lending my best friend £9 so he could buy a pair !! (1969 /1970 ? ) . I was a bit nervous of ordering these shoes as I live in France and a return would of been difficult (and people were saying that the size is a bit on the large size … but they were a perfect fit )….. after a few months I still get them out the box — just to admire them ! They look great and are worth every penny . Shoes are expensive these days … go the extra mile and buy these ….you won’t regret it .

  • From Redders on Jeffery West Honey Brogue Shoes - Exclusive to Modshoes

Finally, I am the proud owner of a pair of Jeffery West for Modshoes exclusives, they’re beautiful shoes! They have some cushioning in ths sole so they’re extremely comfortable; I’m a size 9.5 /10 with a wide foot – I went for the size 10 and they fit perfectly. Very soft and supple leather with a patent finish so really easy to keep clean. I’ve opted to take the tassels off as they were too fussy for my taste, but they certainly look smart with the tassels on too. Thin soles help make them look really smart, with this in mind they’re being kept for special occasions as opposed to everyday shoes. Really pleased with these shoes and as ever, Modshoes service is brilliant – instant order confirmation, notice of despatch and the shoes arrived really quickly.

What a top quality pair of shoes. I have only tried them on with jeans but they will look the business with a smart pair of trousers or suit too. The colour is very nice, they are a very dark brown and look almost black in some light. The fit was my main concern when ordering. However, the advice on the description to go up rather than down was spot on. They fit a treat. I would say they a probably half a size larger than standard. Get them whilst they are in the sale, they are a bargain and you will definitely not be disappointed.

OMG ! Beautiful shoes … worth every penny. Being in my early sixties and a former regular customer of The Ivy Shop in my youth I have always wanted another pair of ‘Royals’ …. The help and service over the phone was second to none , as they had to be delivered to a friend within 24 hours so he could bring them over to France .They arrived 10am the next morning ! Cleaning kit consists of everything you need … even a shoe horn . Like all quality items the way the shoes are packaged screams out that these are top quality shoes . It’s a shame they don’t do oxblood ‘Plains ‘ …. Very pleased . A classic shoe that will never go out of fashion .

  • From Louise Smalley on Chestnut Brogues - Upsetters 3 By DJ

I’ve bought a couple of pairs of these for my other half- the black and the burgundy. Worn out and for work they look very smart. The toe shape is really nice, not pointed, a real solid man’s shoe. I’m a qualified shoe designer so am quite fussy about shoe quality. The quality is fantastic and they look like a £120+ pair of brogues. Made in Portugal so more competitively priced than UK made alternatives. Lovely ‘quality’ leather smell. He’s had them reheeled and resoled as worn them so much but the uppers stay looking new and don’t collapse at all. Apparently they feel like slippers! He will definitely buy them again when they’re worn out.

  • From Carol Cunningham on The Dusty In Black Patent - Ladies Retro T-Bar Shoe by Modshoes

I love my shoes. The video recommends getting a size smaller than you normally wear and it is very good advice. I have a wide foot and normally wear a size six but went for a size 5 and that was definitely the way to go.

This isn’t against Mod Shoes but more against APC delivery company and I feel people should be aware. APC only delivers Monday through Friday (no weekend deliveries) 8am to 4pm so if you’re not in, it’s best to get your shoes from a local APC depot which is what I had to do.

    • From Andrew Lindsay on The Dusty In Black Patent - Ladies Retro T-Bar Shoe by Modshoes

      Hi Carol
Sorry about your experience with APC. We do work closely with them to “Iron Out” problems as they happen.

Its a problem for a lot of courier delivery companies. Meaning they need a signature and the client / customer to be in. At modshoes we can send where ever you want, so relations, work, friend who is at home etc.

Anyone reading this and being worried, please dont as our phone operators can change a delivery address after you have placed an order, and there is a section for shipping to be a different place to home.

      Hope that helps everyone

really pleased with my purchase. like a lot of the good people that review I was a skinhead in the day and these shoes epitomise those great days. stylish, comfortable and great looking.was also looking for a wider fit shoe and these fit the bill for me.im between a 10 and 11 but went with an 11 and glad I did.some reviews have stated that its best to go down a size but for me personally the higher size did the job.have had them on for the afternoon and they have moulded nicely.fantastic service and well pleased.

  • From Steven Rudd on Oxblood Brogue Boots - Landslides (Peaky Blinders Style)

My first introduction to Mod Shoes and there’re absolutely great. Look fantastic in jeans or with smart trousers and wearing in really nicely now (I’ve had them nearly a year). Loads of comments and I love wearing them. Didn’t take much breaking in and they are extremely comfortable. Take a bit longer to get on and off than shorter boots but hey, if that’s the price of style they’re worth it. Out of the box they are very, very shiny but that works really well in oxblood. Did I mention I like them!!!

  • From Steven Rudd on Bowling Shoes - Corded Brown & Leather Shoes

Very good casual shoe. I’m not into trainers so these are great for just putting on in a hurry when I’m off out and work well with all types of trouser. Like a previous reviewer, probably wouldn’t want to wear them in the rain but knew that before I got them.

  • From Steve Temple on Loake Royal Oxblood Brogues

Did mods wear these in the 60s? I thought Loakes didn’t start making Royals until the 70s but I could be wrong.
Whatever! These shoes are worth every penny – very well-built and elegant, and also very comfortable. Look good with a suit or smart trousers but also go well with jeans or sta-prest.
Nice heavy sole which can be resoled as needed. These shoes should last for years.
I read somewhere that they’re called ‘Royals’ because Prince Philip wears them. I can just see him tapping his toes to ‘Liquidator’ in the terraces. Given his naval background he must be either a Pompey or an Argyle fan but hopefully not both at the same time!
Americans call this style of longwing brogue ‘English’, whereas over here they are known as ‘American’. The beauty of them is that only other mods are likely to spot them – to the uninitiated they’re just brogues but some of us know better!

These shoes immediately lit up my eyes. Sheer quality and style. I am 50 now and live in Camden. The shoes immediately brought me back to my youth, when style meant. Everyting. For a leather soled shoe, these are very hard wearing. The best thing is that my kids love them and my son has actually borrowed them. Still waiting for my Jeffry Wests to get back in stock but God bless Modeshoes.
